CANADIAN NATIONAL FIREWORKS ASSOCIATION – CODE OF ETHICS

Commitment to Responsible Representation

CNFA members are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct in accordance with Canada’s robust fireworks regulations—among the most stringent in the world. Full compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws, as well as the requirements of relevant regulatory authorities such as Transport Canada, is mandatory.

Members must actively promote and practice the safe handling, sale, and use of fireworks. Participation in any activity—whether direct or indirect—that could undermine public trust or damage the reputation of the fireworks industry is strictly prohibited.

Integrity in Conduct and Communication

The CNFA represents a wide range of stakeholders within the Canadian fireworks industry. As such, all members are expected to engage with one another—and the public—with professionalism and respect. Slander, defamation, or any form of disparagement directed toward other members or partner organizations will not be tolerated.

Board directors, committee chairs, and other leadership representatives must act with the highest ethical standards, maintaining integrity, professionalism, and impartiality. Members are expected to demonstrate unwavering loyalty to the mission and interests of the Association, ensuring that personal or business interests do not interfere with the operations or objectives of any CNFA initiatives.

Inclusiveness and Industry Collaboration

CNFA is committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment that reflects the diversity of the Canadian fireworks community. Participation is encouraged from all sectors, including—though not limited to—major distributors and importers, seasonal and year-round retailers, fireworks enthusiasts, fire services and associations, and regulatory agencies.
