What is on a Label?

Now let’s take a closer look at product labels and what they need to have on them in order to be legal and authorized in Canada.

This section is all about the legal requirements each firework label needs to have; to be an authorized product in Canada. These regulations are established by the ERD branch of the Canadian government.

Here is a sample label showing all the information necessary to be approved for sale

  1. The height of the effects
  2. Distance to spectators
  3. Any important information about the product (place on level ground, bury halfway, face this side towards the audience, etc.)
  4. Disposal information: How the product should be disposed of
  5. It MUST include both official languages* (English and French) – it is not an authorized firework for sale in Canada if it does not include both languages!
  6. Part number or product name that is authorized by Federal Government.
  7. An authorized company address in Canada.
*Please note, bilingual labels do not guarantee the firework is authorized.
